DISCIPLESHIP SERVICE ROLES

International Team
The nations are here. Our heartbeat for this team is for us to be a family, on mission, together! International Team members will attend weekly gatherings where we will grow in community as a team, share a meal together, and receive training and equipping in partnering with God’s heart for the nations! They will also be a Language Partner and invest into their international friend by hanging out for at least one hour each week. Once a month they will help plan, set up, and attend our Language Partner events.


Weekly Hours: 1-2 / Week



Pancakes
Pancakes discipleship members are responsible for showing up every other Friday to help with setup, execution and cleanup of our weekly Pancakes Night. They will be a part of a group chat (either through text or GroupMe) with a Pancakes leader, are expected to interact in the group chat, and be at the CSF building on time when their leader says they need to be there. Discipleship team members are HIGHLY encouraged to hangout with their teams outside of Pancakes!!

Weekly Hours: ~4 Hours Every Other Week



Shift Meals
Do you love to cook or just love to learn new things? Then this is the role for you! Come and put your cooking skills to use and serve our Freshman community a delicious home cooked meal! We believe that preparing meals with our hands and then serving students is an act of worship and a way to glorify God with our talents and through service. It doesn’t matter what level of experience you have with cooking, you will learn! And you’ll have fun and make friends doing it! This team will equip you to use your natural skills and talents and grow in your knowledge of cooking and baking and creativity!

Weekly Hours: 4-5 Hours Every Other Week



Southland Students
Middle School: Remember Middle School? It may have been the weirdest or best time of your life. Either way… if you want to speak into some middle schoolers lives, sign up to help with Middle School Groups at Southland!
High School: Good ol’ high school. Help speak into and raise up the next generation in small groups at Southland. To do this, you must be a Junior or above!

Synergy Hospitality
The hospitality team is one of the biggest champions of making Synergy feel like home. We want everyone who enters the building to have multiple points of contact and make them feel known. We want to know names and get them connected in our community so no one sits alone. You can serve as a Section Leader, Connection Point Host, Drinks, Greeters, and Name Tags.

Weekly Hours: 3 Hours Every Other Week



Synergy Setup
The setup team is charged with making our spaces feel like home from the minute people walk into the building. They make sure every chair, every coffee card, and every pen is in the right place and that the building is an inviting place before people arrive.

Synergy Meals (PSP)
Any chefs in the house?! This role is for the Pre/Post Synergy Parties (PSP). PSP is what keeps people around after Synergy to create community and lasting friendship. Students in this area help cook the meals and help create their own community in the kitchen and beyond. Wanna make new friends while whipping up a mean buffalo chicken dip? This is the service role for you.

Bi-Weekly Hours:
3-4 hours cooking before Thursday
1-2 hours serving before or after Synergy




Tech
The Tech Team exists to help other ministry areas at CSF (mainly Synergy and Shift) succeed in their mission to reach campus by providing technical support. Students on the team serve by running cameras, clicking through slides, running lights and more. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!! We train on absolutely everything, so if you want to learn something new and serve, this is a great option!

Biweekly Hours: TOTAL – 2.5 Hours Every Other Week
Synergy about 2x/month (2.5 hours each time)

Hillsong. Bethel. United Pursuit. They all had to start somewhere didn’t they?! If you’re musically inclined and are interested in leading worship at Synergy, join the Worship team today!

LEADERSHIP ROLES

Building Team
Well, that’s fine and dandy – but are you handy?! If so, be our newest Building Leaders! We’re looking for someone to help around the building, especially now that we’re expanding! Responsibilities will include building cleaning & maintenance, communicating with our Staff Building Guy, and stewarding well what the Good Lord has given us.


Weekly Hours: A few hours / week



Core Group Leaders
Student Core Group leaders help co-lead a group of 6-12 sophomore-senior students. In addition to prayer, prep, and facilitating conversation, students are a part of a biweekly leadership group. Biweekly groups are focused on equipping leaders on how to lead a group and equip leaders to grow into spiritual and emotional maturity.

Weekly Hours: ~5 Hours a Week
Prep for Group: 1-2 Hours
Biweekly Meetings: 1 Hour Every Other Week
Facilitating Core Group: 2 Hours/ Week



Creative Communication Team
The creative team will explore fun ways to share the mission of CSF and to love campus through social media, photography, video and lots more. We’ll have biweekly meetings to explore how CSF can reach campus to engage students with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok. We are looking for people who have a creative eye and are willing to attend different events throughout our ministry to take photos and videos for use online.

Weekly Hours: 1-3 Hours



Greek Outreach (GO)
GO leaders are CSF’s “boots on the ground” people! Their job is to be living representations of Jesus in their sorority or fraternity and to welcome people into CSF with open arms. GO leaders are the “in-between” for students who don’t know who God is and who don’t have community outside their greek affiliation. GO leaders are passionate about connecting students to a community who loves them and to a God who loves them. GO leaders are people willing to walk alongside freshman in their first year of college and help them to grow into mature Christians. GO leaders are inclusive, driven, forward thinking, teachable people.

Responsibilities:
Plan/help with Sorority Cupcakes during Kickoff Week
Be creative thinkers! Continually brainstorm new ways to reach Greeks
Lead a Shift Greek group (2 different groups, 2 student leaders for each group)
Plan out/schedule events for the year
PRAY FOR REVIVAL IN GREEK LIFE

International Team

Men’s Ministry
Calling all MEN. Are you passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with other guys and growing together to become stronger men of God? Men’s Ministry leaders will work alongside some of our male staff in constant outreach to the men of UK. Outreach can look like watch parties, pre-synergy wings, or other events as this ministry grows! We want our student leaders to take charge of the events and work to support them in creating and hosting events for guys in our ministry. Leaders will be ambassadors on and around campus, as well as helping plan & set up events for men’s gatherings. These leaders can serve/lead in other roles as well.

Biweekly meetings: 1 hour every other week.
Weekly hours: 3-4 hours attending watch parties and other events.



Pancakes
Ready. Set. Flip! Pancakes leaders are responsible for texting team members when they are scheduled to serve, doing various tasks to run pancakes and keeping energy up throughout the night! They are also responsible for coming up with outside hangouts for the students on their team (maybe like 2 hangouts a semester). Additionally, Pancakes leaders are a part of a leader care group where they will get poured into by a staff member!

Weekly Hours: 5 Hours Every Other Week (Biweekly Team Meeting + Leading Pancakes)



Prayer
Prayer leaders are expected to be present at/help lead at least one 3 O’Clock Prayer per week. Prayer leaders also pray weekly before Synergy (intercession) and during Synergy (prayer invitation). We are working on remodeling the Prayer team for next year to include more prayer solos, retreats, and for speakers to come and teach on different types of prayer. Also, we will be adding more prayer walks on campus.

Weekly Hours: < 5 Hours



Shift Group Leaders
Freshmen wander the aimless halls of the University of Kentucky. Who’s gonna make them feel at home? WE ARE! Shift Group leaders co-lead weekly small groups for freshmen students at UK! Shift Group leaders also help host our weekly Monday night dinners. They set an example for freshmen by showing them what it’s like to have a relationship with God in college. By inviting them into deep friendship, freshmen are able to taste the good life and love of Jesus. In addition to all of this, leaders will come to a weekly prep time called Tribe before Shift every week. Because of our mutual love for freshmen, Shift leaders and Shift staff become a family through serving them.

Weekly Hours: 5-6 Hours / Week
Prep for Group: 1 Hour
Shift Program/Tribe Time: 2.5 Hours Every Monday 5-7:30pm
Facilitating Shift Group: 1.5 Hours / Week



Shift Meals
Wanna feed the five thousand? Come and turn fish into loaves! Shift Meals leaders direct students in cooking Shift meals for freshmen! These leaders will communicate with students on the Shift Meals team and take the lead on preparing the recipes for weekly Shift dinners. Most of your service will be done on Mondays, cooking and serving the meals.

Weekly Hours: 5-7 Hours
Care group: 1 hour 2x a month
Service day/field trip once a month: hours will vary!



Synergy
Are you passionate about planning how to creatively reach students through our weekly worship program known around here as Synergy? Whether it’s creating a hospitable environment for every student who comes on Thursday nights or being involved in setting up the space for students to worship, you will have the chance to take ownership of how the night runs! Leaders will join the weekly Synergy staff meeting on Mondays where you will be expected to actively participate in planning the night. You will be expected to execute different aspects of Synergy as well. You will help with scheduling out the discipleship students, run either setup or hospitality rundown, and communicate important details throughout the week.

Weekly hours: 1 (weekly team meetings)
Biweekly hours: 4 (Leading rundown/setup every other week)




Synergy Setup
The Setup Leader maintains the vision for the team and keeps up with the team schedule. The team leaders will fill in holes in the team before Thursday and also run the Setup Rundown meeting. The team leader will attend the weekly Synergy team meeting and communicate important details to the team. The setup team will be assigned a Team A or Team B to co-lead.

Weekly Hours: 2 (Weekly Team Meeting)
Biweekly hours: 4 (Leading the Hospitality every other week)




Synergy Meals (PSP)
This role is for the Pre/Post Synergy Parties (PSP). PSP is what keeps people around after Synergy to create community and lasting friendship. No kitchen expertise required, just come ready to learn! Leaders in this area help coordinate the Discipleship students that show up every other week to cook the meals, dream up new meals and snacks for future PSP parties, and help create their own community in the kitchen and beyond. Leaders are the gas that makes the PSP grill BLAZE!

Bi-Weekly Hours: 4-6 hours every other week
    3-4 hours hours cooking before Thursday
    1-2 hours of serving, before or after Synergy



Tech
A leader on the tech team will learn more extensively the ins and outs of tech at CSF. They will be asked to fill more technical roles for Shift/Synergy, and they will help train up new students on the team. When a staff member from the tech team is absent, leaders are responsible for leading other team members well and making sure they feel welcome and appreciated. Listening for issues, praising when appropriate, etc. Leaders may also be asked to help with special events outside of the normal Shift and Synergy.

Weekly Hours: TOTAL – 3.5-4.5 hours weekly
3 hours every other week when serving at Synergy
1 hour every week for team meeting
